We collect information to provide and improve our service to you. The types of information we collect are:

a) Personal Information:

• Google Account Data: When you sign in using Google (via Firebase Authentication), we collect your basic Google account information, including your Email Address, Display Name, and Profile Picture URL.

• User-Generated ID (Username): When you first log in, we ask you to create a unique public Username (ID). This Username is stored in our database and is visible to other users for friend search purposes.

b) Usage and App Data:

• Study Records: We collect and store your study session data, including the date and duration (study time in seconds) of each session. This is stored in your personal, secure cloud database (Google Firestore) to provide you with statistics and the heatmap feature.

• Public Statistics: To enable social features, we store a summary of your statistics (e.g., todayTotalSeconds, weeklyTotalSeconds, streaks) in a publicly readable document in Firestore.

• Friend List: When you add friends, we store a list of their user IDs (UIDs), usernames, and profile picture URLs. This is stored in your user-specific document in Firestore.

c) Local Cache (SharedPreferences):

• To improve performance, reduce network requests, and provide offline functionality, we store a local cache of your study records, friend list, and profile information (username, email, photo URL) on your device using SharedPreferences. This data is synced with Firestore when you log in (download) and when you stop using the app (upload).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• To create and manage your user account.

• To provide the core functionality of the App (tracking study time, calculating statistics, displaying the heatmap).

• To securely sync your data across devices.

• To enable social features, such as searching for friends by Username and viewing your friends' public statistics (including their study records/heatmap).

• To provide advertising (see Section 4).

• To troubleshoot and improve the App.

3. How Your Information is Shared

Your information is shared in the following ways:

• With Other Users (Friends): Your Username, Profile Picture, Public Statistics (public_stats), and your detailed Study Records (study_records/all_time) are visible to other users you have added as friends, or who search for you by your Username.

• Not Shared: Your Email Address is used only for authentication and is not shared with any other users.

• Service Providers: We use Google Firebase (Firestore, Authentication) to store and secure your data.

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to outside parties other than as described above.

4. Third-Party Services (Advertising)

This App is supported by advertising revenue and uses Google AdMob.

• Google AdMob is a third-party advertising service provided by Google.

• AdMob may use cookies, device identifiers (like the Google Advertising ID), and other technologies to collect information to provide personalized or non-personalized ads.

• The data collected by AdMob is subject to Google's own privacy policy.

We display the following types of ads:

• Banner Ads: Displayed at the bottom of the main app screen.

• App Open Ads: Displayed once when the app is launched (after login).

• Native Ads: Integrated into the Friends List, Statistics pages, and the Exit Dialog.

5. Data Security

We use Google Firebase, a service trusted by millions of apps, to store your data. Firebase uses industry-standard security measures to protect your data. However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data as long as your account is active. You may log out of the app at any time.

If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, please contact us at [Your Contact Email]. We will process your deletion request in accordance with applicable laws.

7. Children's Privacy

Our App is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
