This Privacy Policy explains how Daily Sudoku (“we,” “our,” or “the App”) handles information when you use the Daily Sudoku mobile application.
Daily Sudoku is a Sudoku game and Sudoku solver app. The App is designed to work without user accounts, login, or a backend server. Most app data is stored locally on your device.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
Daily Sudoku does not require you to create an account and does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, address, or other directly identifying personal information.
However, the App may process or store the following types of information depending on the features you use.
1.1 Local Gameplay and App Data
The App may store the following information locally on your device:
Current Sudoku game progress
Puzzle state
Timer information
Mistake count
Hint usage
Best times
Statistics such as games started, completed, failed, or solved
Solver usage count
App settings such as vibration, sound, timer, mistake limit, and theme preference
Daily free hint state
This information is stored locally on your device using local storage such as Android DataStore. We do not upload this gameplay or settings data to our own server.
1.2 Camera and Photo Data for OCR Feature
If you use the Sudoku scanning feature, the App may allow you to:
Take a photo of a Sudoku puzzle
Select an image from your device gallery
Scan the Sudoku board using on-device text recognition
The selected or captured image is used only to detect Sudoku digits and automatically fill the Solver board.
The App does not upload your Sudoku images to our own server. OCR processing is intended to happen on your device. After processing, the recognized digits may be inserted into the Solver board so that you can review and edit them before solving.
You are responsible for ensuring that the image you select or capture does not contain sensitive personal information.
1.3 Advertising Data
Daily Sudoku uses Google AdMob to display advertisements, including banner ads, interstitial ads, and rewarded ads.
Google AdMob and related Google services may collect or process certain information for advertising, analytics, fraud prevention, frequency capping, ad personalization, and ad measurement. This may include, depending on your device settings, region, consent choices, and Google’s policies:
Device information
Advertising ID
App interaction information
Approximate location inferred from IP address
Ad performance information
Diagnostic information
We do not control all data collected by Google AdMob. Please refer to Google’s privacy practices for more details.

Save and continue Sudoku games
Track best times and basic statistics
Manage daily free hints
Apply user settings
Maintain theme preferences
Allow users to solve Sudoku puzzles
2.2 To Provide OCR-based Sudoku Input
When you use the OCR scanning feature, the App processes the selected or captured image to:
Detect the Sudoku board
Recognize visible digits
Fill recognized digits into the Solver board
Let you review and correct the board before solving
The OCR feature is provided as a convenience feature. Recognition may not always be accurate, so users should review the board before solving.
2.3 To Show Advertisements
We use Google AdMob to display ads in the App. Ads help support the free availability of the App.
Advertising may be used for:
Showing banner ads
Showing interstitial ads
Showing rewarded ads for extra hints
Measuring ad performance

Applying ad frequency settings
Depending on your region and consent choices, ads may be personalized or non-personalized.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not operate our own backend server for Daily Sudoku, and we do not upload your gameplay data, saved puzzle data, statistics, settings, or OCR images to our own server.
However, third-party services used in the App may process data as described below.

3.2 ML Kit
Daily Sudoku may use Google ML Kit for on-device text recognition. The OCR feature is intended to process images on the device for the purpose of recognizing Sudoku digits.
3.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request.
4. Local Data Storage
Daily Sudoku stores app-related data locally on your device.
This may include:

Best times
Hint state
User settings
Theme preference
Solver board state, if applicable
You can delete local app data by using the reset options inside the App if available, or by uninstalling the App, or by clearing the App’s storage through your device settings.
Because this data is stored locally, deleting the App may permanently delete your saved progress and settings.

Daily Sudoku may request access to the camera or image picker only when you choose to use the OCR scanning feature.
The App uses these permissions to:
Capture a Sudoku puzzle photo

In certain regions, such as the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions with privacy or consent requirements, you may be asked to provide consent for personalized ads or related data processing.
You may also be able to limit ad tracking or reset your advertising ID through your device settings.

App settings
Device permission settings

Advertising ID settings
Google privacy and ad settings
Consent dialogs, where applicable
You may choose not to grant camera or gallery access. If you do not grant these permissions, the OCR scanning feature may not work, but the manual Sudoku game and Solver features can still be used.

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services, such as:
